The Muncie CS6 Series is a line of clutch-shift power take-offs (PTOs) designed to transfer engine or transmission power to auxiliary equipment (pumps, compressors, generators, etc.). These are built for tough duty-cycle commercial vehicles, such as utility trucks, dump bodies, refuse trucks, aerial buckets, and snow/ice equipment.

Muncie CS6 Features & Benefits

• Clutch-Shift Engagement: The CS6 uses a clutch pack (rather than a gear-type dog shift) for smooth engagement/disengagement of the PTO.
• Drag Brake Standard: A patented internal drag brake is standard, which prevents output shaft rotation when the PTO is switched “off.” This helps prevent unintended shaft spin and associated risk or wear.
• Wide Transmission Compatibility: The CS6 is designed to fit many popular vehicle transmissions — for example, the Allison 1000 & 2000 series automatic transmissions as well as many current manual transmissions.
• Direct-Mount & Remote Output Options: Provides flexibility for mounting pumps or other driven equipment. Options include direct-mount pump flanges (SAE “A”, “B”, “BB”; also DIN 5462) and remote output shafts (keyed or flanged) for remote drives.
• Rotatable Pump Mount Flange: The pump‐flange mounting plate is rotatable, allowing better clearance in tight engine/transmission bays or for pump orientation.

• Intermittent horsepower (@ 1000 rpm): Up to about 57 HP (≈ 43 kW) for many ratios.
• Intermittent torque: Up to about 300 lb-ft (≈ 407 Nm) for many ratios.
• Continuous torque: Approximately 210 lb-ft (≈ 285 Nm) for many ratios.
• Approximate weight: About 47 lbs (≈ 21.3 kg) in many configurations.
• Housing material: Typically ductile iron for strength.
• Ratio options: Multiple speed ratios (.33:1, .44:1, .47:1, .56:1, .70:1, .87:1, 1.15:1) depending on output and application.
